Centrally located in San Diego, Scripps Ranch lies ‘Inland’, just north of the Marine Base, MCAS Miramar, just East of La Jolla, just south of Poway, and to the west are nothing but the mountains, valleys, trails, and wildlife of Mission Trails Regional Park.
Scripps Ranch is close enough to the beautiful beaches of La Jolla to receive a little cover from the Marine Layer, in the mornings and evenings on occasion, to keep things a little cooler on those hot days. And if you want to have a night out on the town or catch a Padres Game, Downtown San Diego is a quick 20 minute drive. Complimented by its great location, Scripps Ranch has beautiful weather year round, for the most part. Parts of the summer can get extremely hot with temps pushing into the upper 90’s and parts of the winter can get very cold with temps dropping down into the low 40’s.
Storage West Scripps Ranch is conveniently located at 10715 Scripps Ranch Boulevard, less than a mile east of the 15 right below Lake Miramar. We are located between Miramar Lake Drive and Mira Mesa Boulevard, with the closet cross street being Hibert Street.
Coming from out of town you would want to connect with the 15 to get to our location. Highway’s 52, 56, 76, 78, 163, and the 8 all connect to the 15 at some point. Coming on the 15 North you will exit at Mira Mesa Boulevard and make a right. Take Mira Mesa Boulevard to Scripps Ranch Boulevard. and make a right. We will be located on the left side of Scripps Ranch Boulevard immediately after you cross over Hibert Street, about half mile from Mira Mesa Boulevard.
Coming on the 15 South you will exit Mira Mesa Boulevard and make a left. Take Mira Mesa Boulevard to Scripps Ranch Boulevard. and make a right. We will be located on the left side of Scripps Ranch Boulevard immediately after you cross over Hibert Street, about half mile from Mira Mesa Boulevard. We are the only storage facility located east of the 15, in this area, keeping us away from the congestion of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Miramar Road.
Our property consists of all ground level units, making your move in and move out very convenient. Property hours are 7am to 7pm, 365 days a year. We also offer a free, 17 foot, box style truck for any new renter at our location. Our great community of renters consists of Local Scripps Ranch/ Mira Mesa families, military families, and local businesses. The great staff, cleanliness of the property, and security of our property make it a place you will feel comfortable storing your belongings.
Scripps Ranch is one of San Diego’s more family/community oriented cities in San Diego, led by the Scripps Ranch Civic Association. The SRCA has been promoting a strong sense of community and volunteer work for the past 40 years, representing 12,000 households in the 92131 zip code. Some of the benefits brought to Scripps Ranch through The SRCA include a neighborhood watch, SRCA Community Center, senior advocacy, and the list goes on. They also sponsor many community events and organizations such as the 4th of July Parade, The Community Fair, Sustainable Scripps Ranch, and many more. The SRCA publish a monthly newsletter, able to be picked up at the Scripps Ranch Library, to keep the residents of Scripps Ranch up to date with all the events and local news going on.
Another organization in Scripps Ranch bringing the community together, on the sports side of things, is The Scripps Ranch Old Pro’s. Founded by Scripps Ranch Residents in 1982, The Old Pro’s consist of more than 300 current members who are focused on neighborhood leadership, civic service, and bringing friends together for a good time. Hosting local bike rides and runs, raising money for community youth and high school sports programs, and organizing local sports leagues are just a couple things the Old Pro’s do for the Scripps Ranch Community. If you want to get involved with sports in Scripps Ranch and meet some genuinely good people, these are the guys you want to get in contact with.
If you love the outdoors, Scripps Ranch is a perfect place to call home. Lake Miramar, a damn/reservoir, owned and operated by the City of San Diego was completed in 1960 as part of San Diego’s second Aqueduct Project. The water flowing into Lake Miramar comes from The Colorado River Aqueduct and The San Diego Aqueduct. At full capacity the lake has 162 surface acres, max water depth of 114 feet, 4 miles of shoreline, and a water storage capacity of 6,682 acre feet. Lake Miramar has a, 4.92 mile long, paved service road surrounding the entire lake making it the perfect place to ride bikes, skateboard, rollerblade, jog, and walk. Vehicles are also allowed on the Service Road Saturday through Tuesday, making access to one of their 18 charcoal grills and 48 picnic tables very easy to have your family picnic at the lake. Just off the paved service road you can find 11 miles of, fun, off road mountain bike trails ranging from easy to challenging.
If you like fishing, Lake Miramar is stocked with Florida-Strain Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, and Sunfish. Along with fishing from the shoreline you can fish off of one of the three docks in the water, from a motor boat, and floating devices. You are required to have a California State Fishing license to fish at Lake Miramar if you are 16 or older, and you are allowed to keep the fish you catch. There is a size restriction and number limit to the fish you keep.
If you like Italian food you can check out Filippi’s Pizza grotto. Filippi’s is a family oriented, Italian, restaurant located in the shopping center across the street from Storage West Scripps Ranch. Another local favorite located in the same shopping center is Bruski Burger’s and Brew. At Bruski’s you can catch a game on one of their big screens or grab lunch on the weekends.
