Things to Do Near Rhodes Ranch in Las Vegas, NV
Days at Rhodes Ranch are easily spent soaking up the Las Vegas sun at the community’s pristine, resort-style pool, playing golf or tennis and enjoying all the incredible amenities the neighborhood delivers. But if you’re in southwest Las Vegas, there is plenty more to see and do.
If you’re the outdoorsy type, this corner of the Las Vegas Valley is a great place to be. Rhodes Ranch hugs the edge of the Spring Mountains (which include the iconic Red Rock Canyon, a few miles northwest).
The Spring Mountains offer one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in Nevada – including 37 species of trees and more than 600 types of plants. While hiking on one of the range’s many trails, you might even catch a glimpse of Palmer’s chipmunk, which is endemic to the Spring Mountains.
Take an interesting and educational day trip to the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. A 25-minute drive from our facility, the park is characterized by craggy mountain peaks and the historic Sandstone Ranch. The area’s creek and grassy meadows once offered a popular oasis for weary travelers and later became a retreat for famous figures like German actress Vera Krupp and millionaire Howard Hughes. In addition to exploring the many pathways throughout the park, visitors can tour the ranch and an 1860s blacksmith shop. Before heading back home, have a picnic at one of the shady tables on the property.
For activities closer to town, families enjoy the Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas water park, which offers a cool reprieve at the height of hot desert summers. Soon they’ll also take refuge at The Bend, an enormous shopping, dining and entertainment complex. The anchor tenant, state-of-the-art Galaxy Theaters, will spread across 73,000 square feet and house 13 screens.
Grab a dinner with loved ones at one of the area’s beloved local restaurants, including the always-packed Black Sheep, serving up Vietnamese-American cuisine in a sleek, modern space. For a more casual but healthy option, check out SkinnyFATS, a local favorite for burgers, salads and fresh juices.
In this southwestern city, there’s always something new – and Rhodes Ranch is at the heart of one of the most exciting and quickly growing areas.

Kibriya, an associate at Storage West, and his manager went above and beyond for me during a recent move at the facility. I was already impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the convenience of the location but now I am a customer for as long as I am in the neighborhood!
