Orange Offers Friendly, Small-Town Ambiance, Quality Schools and Business Opportunities

Located in Orange County, Orange is a mid-sized city close to Santa Ana, Anaheim and other Southern California communities. Residents enjoy Orange’s small-town feel and strong local business scene. People often move to Orange for economic opportunity, higher education institutions and mild weather.

Historically, Orange’s economy was rooted in citrus agriculture, which explains the city’s name. The last decade of the 19th century is known as the “Orange Era” because of a nationwide demand for California-grown citrus fruit. The transcontinental railroad also contributed to the city’s burgeoning population. Today, Orange’s biggest employers include St. Joseph Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Orange County and AECOM.

There are two major schools in Orange: Chapman University and Santiago Canyon College. A well-known, private university with a reputation for high research activity, Chapman University offers 49 majors and 61 minors. Public community college Santiago Canyon College also attracts students to Orange with 65 associate degrees. The school is also known for its competitive women’s soccer team.

The city is centered on the historic plaza. In fact, Orange was the only city in the county to be built around a central plaza and preserved much of the surrounding, original architecture. There, you’ll find the city’s oldest bank and soda fountain. This destination provided a perfect backdrop for the Tom Hanks film That Thing You Do!, which depicts a band’s story during the 1960s.

We serve businesses, families and others at our facility conveniently located near the 22 Freeway.

Things to Do in Orange, CA

Orange prides itself on its fascinating history. This history is best preserved in the streets surrounding the central plaza, which contains more than 1,300 historic buildings and is the largest National Register District in California. You’ll find landmarks such as the Lewis Ainsworth House Museum, a stunning example of American Craftsman-style architecture originally constructed in 1910. Additionally, more than 60 antique stores dot the neighborhood, which is why Orange is often called the “antique capital” of Southern California.

Looking for lunch? Stop at Southern California institution Ruby’s Diner. Although you can eat at Ruby’s in numerous cities, Orange’s location stands out from the crowd because it’s housed in the original Orange Train Depot. It once was a combination depot for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railways, but was closed in 1971. Today, you can order a classic milkshake and burger while watching a miniature train chug around the perimeter of the dining room. Note the restored fixtures and train stop-themed murals.

After lunch, check out the Irvine Regional Park, a natural space sprawling across 160 acres. Popular among locals and tourists, park-goers enjoy fishing, walking and biking. Attractions include paddleboats, hiking trails and miniature train rides. The park also contains the Orange County Zoo, with animal displays including mountain lions, island foxes, vultures and more.

Another major destination is The Outlets at Orange. An impressive, outdoor shopping complex, The Outlets include popular stores like Neiman Marcus and Gap Factory, an AMC theater and plenty of dining options. Make sure to stop by the Vans Skatepark — even if you’re not a skater yourself, it’s a great place to witness seriously skilled athletes. This location also includes a full skateboard pro shop and offers lessons for young skaters wanting to improve their abilities.

Orange’s renowned annual events attract visitors from across the state and beyond, including the Women’s Club Flower Show. Hosted every year since 1937, this colorful show features master gardeners’ hard work and awards like “Best Rose” and “Best Theme Arrangement.” Another notable event is the International Street Fair, traditionally scheduled during Labor Day Weekend in Orange since 1973. The Street Fair takes over Orange’s downtown, attracts hundreds of thousands with international food (like bratwurst, Danish doughnuts and gyros) and live music. If you’re in Orange in September, it’s an outing all ages won’t want to miss.

Whether you’re in Orange temporarily or long-term, we offer storage units conveniently close to many of these attractions.

This facility is the BEST storage that I have ever had in 10 years. JULIE and BRUCE have given me above and beyond customer service. They should be commended for their work ethic!

This is the worst storage rental company that we have ever rented units in. They immediately start bugging out if you are one day on your payment, so expect to get calls, emails, or anything they can throw at you to get that money. You can't even make partial payments to keep up on it, so if you lag and try to make a payment after the due date then they won't except just it and make you pay for the next month and late fees in its entirety or nothing at all. Of course they don't give you a reason, just a "no we don't accept partial payments!" I went in and tried to pay $100 toward one of my units (yes, unfortunately we rent multiple ones from this location) and they didn't accept it. That is ridiculous and foolish on their part, it's money and it's going toward your business!! We immediately told them we are taking our business elsewhere and definitely cheaper than this horrible place. Do not rent here. Public Storage is half the price for bigger units.

I was going through a tough situation and needed to store my stuff in a hurry. I cam in and immediately felt very welcome and at ease. I was pressed for time and space and the process was quick and painless. I even had to last minute change to a bigger unit and it was handled so easily! A very very professional and friendly staff. And clean facility!! I would highly recommend!
