Climate in Las Vegas
The climate in Las Vegas is arid and ranges from cool winter months to hot summers. It’s best to be prepared in advance for the weather conditions that are expected during the time you visit. The tourist board advertises 320 days of sunshine a year with the promise of great vacation weather year-round. However its always best to be prepared and know in advance what you may face at any particular time of the year.
Las Vegas Weather in Summer
The summer months in Las Vegas can be warm. The hottest month is July with average temperatures of 92°F. During this time it is best to schedule ourdoor activities in the morning, or in the evening after the sun has gone down. Short sleeves, shorts and sunscreen are important items to pack if you are visiting during this time. You should also consider what you will wear around the pool area. August is the wettest month and so some rain protection may be necessary. Comfortable walking shoes are always recommended.
Las Vegas Weather in Winter
Las Vegas can have pretty nice weather in winter compared with the majority of the country but on some occasions it can get chilly and windy. During December and January a coat is recommended as the lows at night can be in the thirties. Daytime temperatures can be in the fifties to sixties. The good news is that snow is rare! And of course all buildings have climate control so while you are inside it will be comfortable.
Las Vegas Weather in Spring & Fall
Many people plan their visit to Vegas during spring or fall. The weather during these times is almost perfect – not too hot, not too cold. If you are planning a trip this may be the perfect time – although there may be many other people with the same idea – so it may be more crowded at this time.
