The 77346 community consists of two cities; Houston, TX and Atascocita, TX. This area is in the Northeast corner of Houston. The local community mostly consists of upper-middle-class families and suburban settings. We have different types of neighborhoods in our community. Some are smaller and older while others are new master plan communities. The 77346 area also offers a good mixture of small local businesses and chain stores.
West of Atascocita is Humble, TX and Aldine, TX. To the north is Porter, TX and to the East is a nice-sized body of water named Lake Houston. While no major highways or routes travels through the 77346 community, Interstate 68 runs North and South to the west of this area. Houston is one of the largest cities in this area but there are plenty of charming small towns all around it.
Before 2006, most school-aged residents went to school in the neighboring towns of this community. In 2006, Atascocita built a high school in the town boundaries because of the increase in residents to the area. Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello estate inspired the architecture used for this high school. The Texas State Board of Education has also recognized the school for excellence. The high school also represents an early college magnet school with smaller classrooms.
The nearest college is The University of Houston – Downtown campus. This campus is a traditional four-year institution. Lone Star College operates a small campus in the 77346 community. They offer adult basic education courses and courses for enrichment of the senior community.
