Glendale Glitters is the place for holiday celebrations in Glendale, Arizona. The event takes place in the Historic Downtown area of Glendale and runs from the end of November through the beginning of January. Thousands of visitors attend the holiday season events held amongst around 1.5 million colored holiday lights spread around a 16-block area of town.
Glendale Glitters Location
The Historic Downtown area is located just east and north of 59th and Glendale Avenues. The area includes ample free parking close by. You can also park at Glendale Community College and take a shuttle which takes only a few minutes. There is lots of handicapped parking available in all parking locations.
Glendale Glitters is held from 5 to 10 p.m. every night during the festive period. Along with enjoying the lights and the atmosphere you can shop and buy gifts, enjoy dinner, and have a photo shoot in the location of the holiday tree. There are also horse-drawn carriages available on certain nights. You can pick one up at 58th Avenue and Glenn Drive. You can enjoy viewing six blocks of historic downtown from the carriage which seats 6.
There are also many special events held as part of Glendale Glitters. These include the Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend, the Jingle Bells Rockin’ Nights, and the Spirit of Giving Weekend.
There is also the Glendale Glitter & Glow Block Party which is usually held at the end of the holiday season. Admission is free and the party is attended by thousands who enjoy the streets of Historic Downtown Glendale and watch hot air balloons, listen to live music and enjoy street performers to mark the end of the festive season.
