Storage West can make receiving shipments more convenient than ever. When you become part of the Business PASS (Package Acceptance Storage Service) program, your storage unit can become an extension of your business.
Shipping services such as UPS and FedEx will be able to deliver to your storage unit without requiring your presence. When you have an incoming shipment, we give the delivery driver the key to your storage unit. We grant them access to unload the items there. Upon leaving, the driver returns the key to our office where we keep it on file for your next shipment.
Many of our Community Members are already taking advantage of this exclusive service. There are several ways we can help.
In business for yourself and work out of your home? You may not want to store your merchandise in your living room. A storage unit is a great way to separate your home life from your work life. The distance between you and your job could become an inconvenience if you are always having to sign for packages though. Let us take care of that for you. Just be sure to coordinate with whatever delivery service you choose. We’re at the mercy of the driver when it comes to delivery to your unit. Most drivers are willing to participate, but it’s best to check on that in advance. Also, keep in mind that your storage unit may be an extension of your business but you won’t be able to use your storage unit as a business address. That still needs to be separate.
Out of State Business
Has your business expanded to a new state? Maybe you have employees who are out of town where there is no central office. If you need to get supplies to those employees, but don’t want to deliver to their homes directly, you could utilize this service. Keep in mind that weight restrictions may come in to play depending on the type of items you are shipping. Be sure to coordinate with your delivery service to be sure they are able to deliver your packages directly into your unit.
Being a member of this program means we keep a key to your unit securely tucked away here in the office. Only your driver will have access to your key unless of course, you forget yours! If you’ve just driven miles and miles to collect your month’s deliveries and you’ve forgotten your key at home, it’ll be nice to know we’ve got you covered.
Maybe you have a storefront or an office in town, but you don’t always have someone available to sign for deliveries. It can be risky to allow deliveries to be placed outside. If you want to be sure your packages are safe, you can choose to have them shipped directly to your storage unit. We’re available from 9 to 5 to sign for your packages and grant your driver access to your unit. If you have something really important coming in, and you need to make sure it gets there on time, just let us know it’s coming and we’ll be on the lookout for your driver. Then, we can notify you once it’s arrived.
This service has been particularly useful for many of our Community Members who distribute samples and brochures for pharmaceutical companies. Many companies even require that proprietary materials be stored away from the representatives’ homes. Pamphlets, brochures, marketing materials, and other such items can be delivered to the Representatives’ storage space where they can be sure it will be safe and even air-conditioned if you so choose. Just make sure you keep track of how much you have in your unit. If a delivery arrives but there is no space left in your unit, your driver won’t be able to leave your packages.
If your company receives a lot of shipments, but you don’t have a lot of space for receiving and organizing these items, storage space can be just the thing. Just be sure you don’t mix business deliveries with personal ones. We are happy to provide the space and the helping hand for business deliveries, but we are unable to accept personal packages to your business’ unit.
These are just a few examples of how some of our Community Members are already utilizing the Business PASS program. Sometimes different arrangements need to be made based on the carrier and driver, but most of the time your shipments can be delivered directly to your unit. Think this is right for you? Give us a call! We’d be happy to discuss your business needs with you and see if a Business PASS can take your company to the next level!
