Our History
The company behind Storage West was established in 1880 as The Los Angeles Athletic Club. In the ‘teens and ‘twenties, many celebrities were club members including Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, and Mary Pickford. The LAAC was responsible for bringing the 1932 summer Olympics to Los Angeles and over the years, club members have won nearly 100 Olympic medals. The LAAC founded the John R. Wooden Award and annually presents this prestigious trophy to outstanding collegiate basketball players–both men and women.
Storage West was formed in 1978 to fill the need for first class storage in the West. What makes us unique is that all of our facilities are located in the Western US. We believe the West is a great place to live and to do business. Our goal is to provide clean, safe and secure facilities for families and businesses to store their belongings.
